Ratha Yatra, Car Festival or Chariot Festival is a Hindu festival associated with Lord Jagannath held at Shri Kshetra Puri Dham in the state of Odisha, India. It is the oldest Ratha Yatra, whose descriptions can be found in Brahma Purana, Padma Purana, and Skanda Purana and Kapila Samhita.Rath Yatra or Jatra is the celebration of the Lord Jagannath, who is believed to be the Lord of Universe's journey towards his aunt's house. The festival commemorates Jagannath's annual visit to Gundicha Temple via Mausi Maa Temple (maternal aunt's home) near Saradha Bali, Puri. This annual festival is celebrated on Ashadha Shukla Paksha Dwitiya (second day in bright fortnight of Ashadha month).

Bahuda Yatra, the day of Devshayani Ekadashi,Bhagwan Jagannath goes into his sleep for four months. Before this, Prabhu Jagannath must return to his main temple.Hence, after the 8th day of the rath yatra, the journey to return to its main temple on Dashami date is known as Bahuda Yatra. During the Bahuda Yatra, Bhagwan Jagannath little bit stop at Devi Ardhasini`s house and take podapitha(Jaggery Sweet) as bhog. Niladri Bije, is the ceremony of Lord Jagannath’s return with his siblings from the Raths to the main temple in Goti Pahandi. Among all the rituals of Jagannath Rath Yatra, the most interesting and last one seems to be Niladri bije.
